Welcome to Sequoia Cabin Retreat, a special offering from Chapel in the Pines for ministry professionals and their families. Nestled in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains in Arnold, this serene cabin provides a peaceful retreat for those in ministry who are in need of rest and rejuvenation.

Sequoia Cabin Retreat is available year-round, with plenty to enjoy in every season. During the warmer months, guests can experience hiking, water recreation, and outdoor fun. Best of all, there is no cost for guests to stay during this time.

In the winter, storms will commonly bring in anywhere between a couple inches and a few feet of snow , perfect for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and other winter activities. For those seeking more adventure, nearby snow parks and ski resorts are just a short drive away. From November through March, we ask for a minimal fee of $25 per night to help cover heating and snow removal costs, ensuring a comfortable stay.

Our campus consists of the main sanctuary with separate office building and parking lot. Across Cedar Lane the church owns three houses. House 1 and 2 are used in various capacities, but House 3 stood idle. It was decided to offer this as a ministry outreach. Years of work and planning have finally paid off as we present this unique respite to those in ministry that just need to get away.

Deposit: A refundable deposit of $250 is due at the time of Registration to cover loss or damage during your stay.
Note 1: This house is not Handicap Accessible. The main entrance is at the top of a flight of stairs, and the door is too narrow to accommodate a wheelchair.
Note 2: NO pets of any kind are allowed.

In The Area

Calaveras Big Trees
State Park

Only 15 minutes up the highway is the jewel of the area where you can take an easy natural walk among the grove of giant sequoia redwoods. Some thousands of years old and hundreds of feet tall have been growing here since the time of Christ.

Sierra Nevada Logging Museum

The Sierra Nevada Logging Museum is situated at White Pines Lake and gives a fascinating look into the history of logging that was so important in the Sierras for decades. Creative exhibits bring this history to life and honor those who lost their lives in the industry. Part of the Arnold Rim Trail also takes off from here.

White Pines Lake

Technically not in Arnold but in the neighboring community of White Pines, it is just a few short miles outside of Arnold. The lake is the perfect spot to relax, or play at the beach. Didn't bring a kayak or canoe? No problem. Just across the highway from Chapel is Sierra Nevada Adventure Company (SNAC) where you can rent or purchase all manner of sporting goods for any season.

State Route 4

What? That's right Highway 4 itself is an attraction. It is listed as a National Scenic Byway.  A drive up to the summit and beyond has many picturesque vistas. Make sure to take your camera. For more information, click here.

Arnold Rim Trail

The Arnold Rim Trail (ART) is a non-motorized trail system designed for hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians. ART connects the many wonders of public lands along the Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Byway stretch of Hwy 4 to its communities, creating a high level of access for its residents and visitors. Arnold Rim Trail winds about 17 miles through old-growth forest, down into canyons, and up onto rocky areas with views of the Central Valley.
