1. Read for yourself Acts 2:1-13. What stands out to you as you read this passage? 

2. In our reading today the Holy Spirit comes to strengthen and empower the followers of

Jesus. Before His Ascension Jesus promised a “gift” would be sent to them from God

the Father. This gift would give them the ability to take the message of Jesus to all

nations. How much do you think about the Holy Spirit’s work in your life? 

3. It can be tempting to try to do everything in our own power and ability. Even when trying

to teach others about Jesus, we as Christians too often rely on our own abilities instead

of the work of the Holy Spirit. Have you ever felt the Holy Spirit help you or come

alongside you? What was that experience like? How did you know it was God? 

4. At the end of this passage some were led to Jesus for the first time, but others just said

the disciples “had too much to drink.” Ever sense the very start of the church some have

believed and others have rejected the truth that was right in front of them. How have you

seen this play out in your own life and in the lives of those around you?
